About Me.

Hello, I’m Lee. Thank you for taking the time to visit my site.

I’m a UK based photographer specialising in travel, adventure and landscape photography.

I shoot for brands through my full time job as Creative Head at branding consultancy Propaganda.

For information about my background and how I got into photography, please keep reading.

Background.

Since a young age there was a select few interests in my life: running around and exploring places I wasn’t supposed to, and the world of visual culture. And I’m lucky that those interests have turned into a career.

I’ve spent 20+ years as a designer and art director in my day job. And running around and exploring was merely a hobby in my free-time. But the day I chose to pick up a camera and start taking photos, I realised I’d found a way for those two worlds to combine. I could blend my love of seeing new places and creating visuals, and the process brings me so much joy.

I’m a full time Creative Head at the brand consultancy Propaganda in Leeds, UK, where I’ve worked happily for the past 23 years. Here, we develop and create brands, creating striking and unique visual ‘worlds’ for our clients.

The travel and adventure photography started as a personal side project, and recently I’ve started shooting commercial work for our clients at Propaganda.

My Journey into Photography.

2017 was a pivotal year for me. I was lucky enough to be granted a 100 day sabbatical from work, and I decided to travel around Asia.

Whilst packing, I dusted off an old Nikon DSLR that was stashed under my bed, along with all the other long-forgotten electronic purchases (I’m sure those Sony Mini-Disc and Beta-Max players will come back in handy some day).

I should have known how to use it, but I didn’t. I did a module of photography as part of my degree course, but that was a long time ago, and I never really understood it at the time.

And so began a big adventure; of exploring new countries and cultures, and navigating the art of photography. The trip unlocked a passion in me that I never knew existed.

I was travelling alone, so the camera became my friend, and it never left my side. Days were spent roaming on foot, and evenings were spent editing. Every turn revealed amazing new photographic opportunities.

Exploring the world and learning about photography feels like a trip that could last a life-time: there will always be new places to discover, and always new things to learn.

This site aims to share that adventure.

Long may it continue.
